About this work
"There are no beautiful surfaces without a terrible depth"
                                                                                 Nietzsche

This famous Nietzsche's quote was always one of my favourites, it spoke very deeply to me. People were debating for a while on the exact meaning of this quote, and it is probably because it is  multifaceted. While working on my Rolling Hills, I saw a great fit of this beautiful words to my piece.
Rolling hills, soft and warm, under early summer sunset light, plush as sherpa, they are like cuddly waves that invite you to wander among them, enjoying the rich palette of changing colours. All that beauty that Nature presents on its surface... all that depth underneath responsible for such creations.

"The Bright Side"

("When Earth Calls" series)
I
n this series, I voice my feelings and thoughts on nature awareness, on the human/nature complicated relationship of connection and rejection. Incorporating earthy elements in this series, (such as wood and stones, along with man-made materials), my intention is to create a family of abstract pieces, rich in texture and deep earthy colours.
About this work
A while ago, I was listening to an interview with scientists on a climate/nature topic, and there was a remark said that visually stuck in my head - Hypothetically, if there were someone millions of years after humans, and they get to cut the Earth crust deep to study layers of the Earth periods, then among layers of soil and rocks, there will be this bright vivid layer of un-decomposed plastic - marking human's civilization. I often wonder what we will leave on this planet after we are gone. Well, apparently, there is some bright side to it.

"It's All In Us"

("When Earth Calls" series)
I

Incorporating earthy elements in this series, (such as wood and stones, along with man-made materials), my intention is to create a family of abstract pieces, rich in texture and deep earthy colours.
About this work
We try to be closer to nature today, we actively go to the woods to hug trees, to lakes and seas to enjoy sunsets. We like to surround ourselves with more nature, more eco-friendly products. We like to think that we are not completely ignorant on this topic, we admit our knowledge in nature and climate related issues. But we prefer life of overproduction, overconsumption, contamination and distraction.
Why we started loving what destroys us?
How we started abusing what creates and cares for us?

("When Earth Calls" series)
In this series, I voice my feelings and thoughts on nature awareness, on the human/nature complicated relationship of connection and rejection. Incorporating earthy elements in this series, (such as wood and stones, along with man-made materials), my intention is to create a family of abstract pieces, rich in texture and deep earthy colours.
About this work
We live in a world so defined by climate change and human destruction - by forests burning and glaciers melting, by extinguished species and rising seas - that it's sometimes hard to fathom what an even more dismal future might look like.
It seems like we, humans, do not want to be a part of nature, did we decide to take a separate path? We are on fire. Will we be able to survive past the ashes?

"Entering The Colour World I"
About this work

Entering the Colour World is a series of paintings where the emphasis is made mainly on colour. Most of my works are created with a restrained palette, mostly in a monochrome style, where shades and tones prevail over open colours. In this series, my focus was on a bright, lively palette, with juicy and deep colours. A new style of broad stroke emerged during the work on this series.

"The wave"

About this work

What would you feel as an endless field of flowers blown by the wind? Pulled, torn and caressed by spontaneous waves, all at the same time.

"The wave" is the result of my pursuit of capturing the peak moment of emotions and inspired by Hokusai's "The Great Wave off Kanagawa".

"In the name of Eve "

About this work

This work is an ode to femininity. Femininity in all its immense beauty that glows from inside to outside, shining with confidence, subtle seduction and tenderness... The power that has been present in women since the time of Eve.

I was searching for forms and shapes of femininity, eager to discover the lines around feminine nature with its mystery and sensuality, hues of sexuality and seduction.

"Hypnotized worshippers "

About this work

Years ago during snorkelling in Mexico I had a unique chance of witnessing circling school of fish in the water. I was stunned by the captivating movement of hundreds of silver fishes, they were just going around and around and around in their amazing nirvana dance...I was watching them for what seemed like ages, hypnotized. They were one whole moving force, powerful and fragile, all as one following this invisible line, creating a perfection in their performance.

"In blue heavens "

About this work

This rustling sound above your head ... A few seconds and they are gone. They flashed like a shadow, leaving us in thought and speculation about their free journey. What horizons and landscapes appear to them? How does it feel like to soar between heaven and earth? What does it mean to cut with your wings through streams of air and not notice admiring glances from the earth?

About this work

What makes life to find its way through obstacles and to find means to exist? What happened to those late coming buds nobody expected to flourish on fading away branches so late in the season? Perhaps they needed more time to satiate their needs and to come out when they wanted to see the world and to awake unexpected feelings in other souls.

"Untangling my thoughts"

About this work

Thoughts.... So very many of them, they are running through, inside and out like hi-speed trains. Sometimes they cripple and puzzle mind and start their complicated dances. Trying finding their loose ends or beginnings almost impossible. They are bright and dull, colorful and translucent, they are provocative and calming, each of them radiates its own light and energy. They could create a beautiful shawl if you could use them as yarn. But before, they need to be untangled and unraveled

"Hidden treasures"

About this work

When I was little, I loved to play with other kids in the garden creating little hidden treasures and hiding them in the dirt. We would use little pieces of broken glass, layering them with some colorful shiny objects (as chocolate wrap) at the inner side of the glass and bury those in soil all over the garden. Then we would look for the hidden pieces and carefully wash away top soil layer, exposing shiny glass with hidden object inside.

I always had a thrill while playing that game and I would always remember those memories many years later. It felt magical - to create a little glass window in dirt with something shiny and precious hidden inside...

"Procrastination at its best"

About this work

I have it almost every day. I postpone my work, work which is important, work which I have ran a million of times and planned it over and over in my head. I almost know every step ahead of times. I am ready for it, all I really need right now - is to start.

That is where is getting complected.

I suddenly find a million of things to do and to care for (at least, one extra target, all it needs). I understand that this are distractions and I must work around them with understanding of this weirdest phenomenon..

Perhaps Gods don't want us to get over-excited over our passions?

About this work

With the simple subject as a flower, the intention of this work was to evoke emotions of belonging. We all have our homes, our places, our heart destinations. We all feel time when those lands are calling us, when wind is blowing in the direction of where we are from or where we should be. My wind is blowing west today .
